Cet article se concentre sur les lieux de dévotion qui sont censés contenir des reliques, et présente ces figures dans un cadre schématique, pour discuter de l'importance de certains de ces lieux et de certains aspects de leurs transformations au fil du temps. Je commence par identifier les figures sacrées de chiisme et le ou les lieux (multi-localité des tombes) attribués à chacun d'entre eux. Je passe ensuite à une discussion sur ce qui peut sembler paradoxal, c'est-à-dire l'immatérialité de la figure sacrée, et son omniprésence au-delà des lieux. Mes données sont basées sur des observations de terrain et des entretiens, ainsi que sur des sources documentaires et publiées.
