Abstract Este trabalho tem como objetivo realizar uma investigação sobre o processo de comunicação e divulgação científica (DC), no sentido de comunicação para o público externo e leigo em mídias sociais, de três instituições de ensino e pesquisa pública do Estado de Roraima. Trata-se de um estudo de caso com análise de conteúdo. Analisou-se a Universidade Federal de Roraima/UFRR, Universidade Estadual de Roraima/UERR e Instituto Federal de Roraima/IFRR, por meio de acompanhamento das postagens da amostra nas mídias sociais durante o ano de 2019 e janeiro de 2020. Percebeu-se que as três instituições têm perfis ou páginas nas redes sociais: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter e Youtube e a UFRR e o IFRR também estão no Flickr. O Facebook é a rede mais utilizada pelas três instituições. Os dados estudados demonstram que a Divulgação Científica, como transferência de conhecimento para a sociedade, não é objeto da comunicação das instituições públicas do estudo. Também se identificou não haver um departamento de DC em nenhuma das três instituições, tão pouco concluiu ser a comunicação centralizada nas instituições. Faz-se necessário e urgente repensar a DC para criar maior engajamento e retorno para IES buscando beneficios mutuos.
AbstractList This work aims to realize a investigation about the communication process and scientific divulgation (CD), in the sense of communication for the external public and layman in social media, of three institutions of teaching and public research of the State of Roraima. It is a case study with content analysis. The Federal University of Roraima/UFRR, State University of Roraima/UERR and the Federal Institution de Roraima/IFRR were analyzed, thorough the accompaniment of the posts of the sample in social media during the year of 2019 and January of 2020. It was noticed  that the three institutions have profiles or pages in the social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter e YouTube and the UFRR and the IFRR are as well on Flickr. Facebook is the network utilized the most by the three institutions. The studied data demonstrate that the Scientific Divulgation, as a knowledge transfer for the society, is not the object of the communication of the public institutions of the study. The analysis of the work also identified that there isn’t a department of CD in any of the three institutions.. Making necessary and urgent to rethink the CD to create bigger engagement and the return to the IES seeking out mutual benefits.
