| Abstract | This volume brings together cutting-edge research on the syntax–discourse interface, featuring eleven studies by prominent scholars that address the widely debated issue of the relationship between syntax and pragmatics. The focus is on which pragmatic features and categories should be projected in syntax in order to provide formal explanations for constructions whose structural properties are influenced by the discursive status of the sentence.
