Computing the Action of Trigonometric and Hyperbolic Matrix Functions

We derive a new algorithm for computing the action \(f(A)V\) of the cosine, sine, hyperbolic cosine, and hyperbolic sine of a matrix \(A\) on a matrix \(V\), without first computing \(f(A)\).
