Beschreibung: Esta investigación estudia los efectos que tienen dos tipos de podcast: Podcast Guionizados (PG) y Podcast Libres (PL) en la fluidez oral de estudiantes universitarios taiwaneses de español lengua extranjera (LE) nivel B1 durante un semestre académico. Los participantes de PG (N = 19) producen 21 episodios siguiendo un guión predeterminado por el profesor. Los participantes de PL (N = 20) producen 21 episodios sin estar sujetos a ningún guión predeterminado. A partir de un diseño cuasi experimental que cuenta con cuatro herramientas: 1) pruebas de acceso léxico, 2) pruebas de narrativas orales, 3) pruebas de la evaluación de la fluidez oral y 4) cuestionarios, para recoger tanto datos cuantitativos como cualitativos antes y después de la implementación didáctica de los podcast en el curso en cuestión. Se analiza el comportamiento de los diversos elementos que componen a los PG y PL: duración, número de intervenciones, temática, medidas temporales, temática y cuestiones técnicas y las tres dimensiones de la fluidez oral de los participantes: fluidez cognitiva, fluidez temporal y fluidez perceptiva.
Description (Translated): The present dissertation assesses the effects of two types of podcasts: Scripted Podcast (PG) and Non -scripted Podcast (PL) on oral fluency of Taiwanese university students of Spanish as a Foreign Language (FL) in B1 level during one semester. PG participants (N = 19) produced 21 podcasts following a script made by the teacher and PL participants (N = 20) also produced 21 podcasts without any script. The primary data were collected at two times (before and after producing podcasts) based on this quasi experimental research design that involved collection of four materials: 1) lexical access, 2) narrative task, 3) fluency ratings and 4) questionnaires. We evaluated different elements in PG and PL: length, number of interventions, topic, temporal variables and post-productions issues and, three dimensions of oral fluency: cognitive fluency, temporal fluency and perceptive fluency. The results show that in some respects participants of PG made greater gains, both in terms of cognitive and temporal fluency, than PL participants. There was also significant difference in the quality of podcasts on PG and in the length of the fade out on PL. This outcome also shows that, in general, most of the participants have a positive attitude toward the use of podcasts in the learning process. The current dissertation concludes by suggesting a number of implications for teaching and further research.
