Popis: Stroke is a major cause of disability worldwide, and occupational and physical therapy are commonly used for rehabilitation. However, in recent years, neurorehabilitation has become an important component of stroke management. This case report describes the use of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in an adult female who had experienced three strokes in the past 10 years and presented with motor coordination difficulties, speech and visual impairments, and comorbidities including hypertension, rheumatic heart disease, and hypothyroidism. Neurological examination was conducted, and tDCS sessions were planned for motor and cognitive deficits using a cathode over the right motor cortex and an anode over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex. The patient received 12 sessions of tDCS over 2 weeks, resulting in improved motor function, cognition, and mood without any reported side effects. The study concludes that tDCS is a safe and noninvasive brain stimulation technique that can help facilitate stroke recovery.
