| Popis: | The literature review is devoted to the current problem concerning papillomavirus infection (PVI) in pregnant women. PVI, being one of the current problems of modern medicine, requires an interdisciplinary approach in diagnostics and management tactics, including in pregnant women. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection affects reproductive health and perinatal outcomes. One of the most serious obstetric complications associated with HPV is fetal growth retardation, the pathogenesis of which can be mediated by direct viral effects on the trophoblast and endothelium of placental vessels. There is evidence of the proinflammatory effect of the virus and its ability to potentiate the systemic inflammatory response in the fetoplacental complex, clinically manifested in chorioamnionitis. With PVI, the number of premature births, premature rupture of membranes, and antenatal death of the fetus increases. Giant pointed condylomas in pregnant women create mechanical obstacles to vaginal delivery and are associated with the risk of vertical transmission of the virus, the development of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis in the infant. |
