| Popis: | Introduction. Biodynamic agriculture, a holistic andregenerative approach to farming, has gained attention for itspotential to improve soil health, increase biodiversity, andenhance the quality of agricultural products. Originating fromthe ideas of Rudolf Steiner in the early 20th century, biodynamicfarming integrates spiritual, ecological, and ethical principles.Purpose.The primary purpose of this study is to explore thefundamental principles of biodynamic agriculture, evaluate itseffectiveness compared to conventional farming methods, andunderstand its impact on environmental sustainability and cropyield.Methods. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research techniques.Field experiments were conducted on various farms practicingbiodynamic agriculture to collect data on soil quality, crop yield, and biodiversity. Interviews with farmers and agriculturalexperts provided insights into the practical challenges andbenefits of biodynamic farming.Results.The results of the study indicate significantimprovements in soil health and biodiversity on biodynamicfarms compared to conventional farms. Soil organic mattercontent was found to be higher, and there was a notable increasein the presence of beneficial insects and microorganisms. Cropyields on biodynamic farms were comparable to those onconventional farms, with some crops even showing higheryields.Conclusion. Biodynamic agriculture presents a viablealternative to conventional farming, offering numerousenvironmental and agricultural benefits. Its holistic approach notonly promotes sustainable farming practices but also contributesto the overall health of the ecosystem. Further research andwider adoption of biodynamic principles could enhance foodsecurity and environmental sustainability. |
