Beschreibung: KLIMEŠ, Libor. Design of a seating element for the exterior. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2024. The diploma thesis is focused on the design of a seating element for the exterior. Specifically, it is an exterior bench in the form of a solitaire. This work is divided into two main parts, namely the theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with the historical development of seating elements in general and exterior seating elements. In addition, the theoretical part includes material options, surface treatments and production technologies for wood and metal components. Furthermore, requirements, safety, typology and ergonomics of seating furniture. The practical part deals with the design of a seating exterior element from the research of outdoor seating furniture and the first idea in the form of sketches and models to visualization and production of the final product. The practical part also includes assembly, product packaging and material costing. The next chapter in the practical part is then the verification of the functionality of the exterior seating element using the finite element method.
