| Beschreibung: | The article discusses the role and functions of twins' pattern in the Life of Simeon of Emesa, seminal work for the canon of the holy fools' hagiography. The approach of O. M. Freidenberg is used to analyze and explain the need for twins' duality in the plot of the Life. The conclusion is made that the twins play the role of witnesses to determine the asceticism of holy fool which is hidden for others. Also twin person emphasizes the special, exclusive connection of the holy fool with the sacred side of being. В статье рассматриваются роль и функции двойничества в византийском житии Симеона Эмесского, произведении, заложившем основы канона агиографии юродства. Для анализа и объяснения происхождения двойничества в сюжете жития использован подход О. М. Фрейденберг. Сделан вывод, что двойники выполняют роль свидетелей по определению сокрытого для других подвижничества юродства, а также позволяют акцентировать особую, исключительную связь юродивого с сакральной стороной бытия. |
