Knjiga "Fonetska transkripcija" predstavlja sveobuhvatan priručnik koji detaljno obrađuje fonetsku transkripciju kao znanstvenu disciplinu i metodu bilježenja govora. Autori pružaju sustavan pregled teorijskih postavki, povijesnog razvoja, metoda i standarda fonetske transkripcije, s posebnim naglaskom na njezinu primjenu u hrvatskom jeziku. Strukturirana u nekoliko tematskih cjelina, knjiga pokriva osnovne principe komunikacije, međunarodnu fonetsku abecedu (IPA), specifičnosti hrvatskog jezičnog sustava u kontekstu transkripcije te upotrebu transkripcije u logopediji, lingvistici i govornoj patologiji.
