Digital educational content (DEC) has become an important component of modern teaching practices in schools. Over the past decade, advancements in technology and digital tools have transformed the design and implementation of DEC, introducing new opportunities to achieve educational outcomes. While our previous research focused on quantitative aspects of DEC - user satisfaction, perception, and usage patterns, this study explored qualitative dimensions through a case study in a Croatian primary school. The goal of the study was to explore how the design of DEC affects the quality of teaching in primary schools and to identify the challenges and opportunities that teachers face when implementing DEC in their teaching process. Research methods included interviews with four teachers, a review of the school website, and an analysis of digital teaching materials. The findings revealed that DEC positively influenced the quality of teaching by fostering active student participation and enhancing motivation. Furthermore, DEC enabled personalized learning approaches, contributing to improved student engagement and outcomes. However, challenges remain, particularly in teacher training for effective DEC integration. These findings highlight the need for further qualitative research to identify support mechanisms and training programs to help teachers maximize DEC benefits |
