Beschreibung: Understanding human information processing is central to designing and implementing learning environments for supporting learning processes and outcomes. Recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) provides opportunities for enhancing the affective, cognitive, and social dimensions of information processing. The main argument of this article postulates that AI enriches information processing, creating reciprocal interactions that influence both human-centred systems and AI systems, underscoring the interplay between AI and human cognitive frameworks. Yet, addressing privacy, ethical, and equity challenges is crucial for leveraging AI to create dynamic, inclusive, and responsive learning environments. Continued research will be vital for responsibly realising AI's full educational impact. Keywords: artificial intelligence, information processing, learning progress
