Predmety: Nature target setting, nature-related risks, PRB
Popis: Led by UNEP FI and UNEP-WCMC, this discussion paper intends to solicit feedback from banks and relevant civil society bodies on a proposed approach for banks to set impact targets for nature. The approach is built to provide guidance for banks aiming to reduce negative nature-related impacts, thereby, contributing to the vision, ambition, goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (hereafter ‘the Global Biodiversity Framework’). By fostering feedback on: the proposed approach, challenges and limitations to the approach, and proposed solutions to the stated challenges and limitations, this paper aims to support the development of strategies for banks to improve the state of nature. The effort intends to lead to a workable approach that should enable banks to increase their ambition as it relates to their impacts on the state of nature. In addition, through discussion and feedback on the approach, UNEP FI hopes to build a repository of global examples of banks taking action to address their impact on the natural world.
