| Popis: | This article is dedicated to the development of foreign language communicative competence of high school students through the use of the project method. The relevance of the study is substantiated by the insufficient procedural and substantive development of the issue of implementation of the formation of the discussed competence in the course of school English language teaching. The main objective of the study was to develop the project "An Unusual Modern Gadget", which is an alternative for one of the assignments of the 8th module of the English in Focus (Spotlight) textbook for the 10th grade. A detailed description of the stages of the project is presented, and words and expressions for logical structuring of the speech are highlighted. It is noted that the implementation of this project contributes to comprehensive foreign language teaching, which is expressed both in the involvement of high school students in the process of learning the subject "English language" and the formation of foreign language speaking skills. Настоящая статья посвящена вопросу формирования иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции учащихся старших классов посредством использования метода проектов. Актуальность исследования обосновывается недостаточной процессуальной и содержательной разработанностью вопроса реализации формирования рассматриваемой компетенции в ходе школьного обучения английскому языку. Основная цель исследования состояла в разработке проекта «An Unusual Modern Gadget», являющегося альтернативой для одного из заданий 8 модуля УМК «Английский в фокусе» (Spotlight) для 10-ого класса. Представлено подробное описание этапов проекта, а также выделены слова и выражения для логической структуризации речи. Отмечается, что имплементация данного проекта способствует комплексному обучению иностранному языку, выражающемуся как во вовлечении старшеклассников в процесс изучения предмета «Английский язык», так и формировании умений и навыков иноязычного говорения.
