Description: The article attempts a partial reconstruction of the history of a village located on the territory of modern-day Pervomaisky, Alatyrsky Municipal District, Chuvash Republic, which was home to Correctional Labor Colony No. 1, also known as Alatyrskaya Penitentiary Complex No. 1. The institution existed from 1929 to 1964, but the focus is primarily on the chronological period from the mid-1930s to the early 1940s. This emphasis is explained by the time of the mass stay in this correctional institution of prisoners from among the clergy and believers. The topic of political repression in the USSR, including against Orthodox clergy and laity, is one of the actively developed scientific problems, but the history of this “zone” has not yet come to the attention of specialists. The research methodology is based on a traditional combination of general scientific and special historical (historical-systemic, historical-comparative and problem-chronological) methods. Based on archival documents and published materials, the quantitative and qualitative composition of religious prisoners and the conditions of their stay in the colony are considered. The results of the study make it possible to fill in one of the gaps in the study of the history of repressive policies against dissidents in the USSR, as well as to depict the life of prisoners using the example of one of the “places of general detention”.
В статье предпринята попытка частичной реконструкции истории существования располагавшейся на территории современного пос. Первомайский Алатырского муниципального округа Чувашской Республики исправительно-трудовой колонии № 1 (известной также как Алатырская ИТК № 1). Учреждение существовало с 1929 по 1964 гг., но в фокусе внимания, прежде всего, находится хронологический отрезок с середины 1930-х по начало 1940-х гг. Такое акцентирование объясняется временем массового пребывания в данном исправительном учреждении заключенных из числа духовенства и верующих. Тема политических репрессий в СССР, в том числе в отношении православных священнослужителей и мирян, относится к числу активно разрабатываемых научных проблем, однако история данной «зоны» до настоящего времени не попадала в поле зрения специалистов. Методология исследования построена на традиционном сочетании общенаучных и специальных исторических (историко-системный, историко-сравнительный и проблемно-хронологический) методов. На основе архивных документов и опубликованных материалов рассмотрены количественный и качественный состав осужденных по делам веры и условия их нахождения в колонии. Результаты исследования позволяют заполнить одну из лакун в изучении истории репрессивной политики в отношении инакомыслящих в СССР, а также отобразить быт заключенных на примере одного из «мест общего заключения».
