Popis: 18 января свое 80-летие отметил Валериан Афанасьевич Снытко. В 1961 г. он окончил географический факультет Московского государственного университета и по приглашению В.Б. Сочавы поступил на работу в Институт географии СО РАН, где прошёл все этапы научной карьеры от старшего лаборанта до директора. В 1968 г. был назначен заместителем директора по научной работе и проработал в этой должности до 1999 г. В 2000 г. избран членомкорреспондентом РАН. В 2000-2005 гг. был директором Института географии СО РАН. С 2005 г. В.А. Снытко - главный научный сотрудник Отдела истории наук о Земле ИИЕТ РАН, где до настоящего времени проходит его трудовая деятельность. Большую часть своей жизни учёный занимается физической географией, ландшафтоведением, геохимией ландшафтов и является основоположником нового научного направления - стационарных ландшафтно-геохимических исследований. Последние 15 лет его научные интересы связаны с историей географической науки. С 2007 г. В.А. Снытко - участник Комплексной экспедиции по изучению исторических водных путей ИИЕТ РАН. С 2011 г. В.А. Снытко плодотворно сотрудничает с коллегами из Чечни и является членом редколлегии журнала «Вестник Академии наук Чеченской Республики». On January 18, Valerian Afanasyevich Snytko celebrated his 80-year anniversary. In 1961, he graduated from the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University and at the invitation of V.B. Sochava went to work at the Institute of Geography of the SB RAS, where he went through all the steps of his scientific career, from senior laboratory assistant to director. In 1968, he was appointed as deputy director for scientific work and had been working in this position until 1999. In 2000 he was elected corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2000-2005, he was the director of the Institute of Geography of the SB RAS. Since 2005, V.A. Snytko is the Chief Researcher of the Department of the History of Earth Sciences of S.I. Vavilov Institute for the history of science and technology RAS, where his work activities are still taking place. Most of his life, the scientist is engaged in physical geography, landscape science, landscape geochemistry. He is the founder of a new scientific direction - stationary landscape-geochemical studies. In the past 15 years, his scientific interests are connected with the history of geographical science. Since 2007, V.A. Snytko is a participant of the Complex Expedition for the Study of Historical Waterways IHST RAS. Since 2011, V.A. Snytko fruitfully cooperates with colleagues from Chechnya. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic".

Abstrakt:18 января свое 80-летие отметил Валериан Афанасьевич Снытко. В 1961 г. он окончил географический факультет Московского государственного университета и по приглашению В.Б.
