These changes contributed to India’s modernization but also led to economic hardships, including the decline of local industries and increased social inequality. The research further analyzes the Company’s influence on India’s social structure, highlighting how Western education fostered a new elite class and facilitated cultural exchange. The paper concludes that, while the Company brought modernization, it also caused exploitation, leaving a complex legacy that continues to influence modern India. |
