The article presents an attempt to evaluate commercially avaible software selected software vendors, used in the design of relational databases. In the comparative analyses both commercial and non-commercial solutions are taken into account. The research purpose is to propose a method of assessment of tools based on a modified model of usable quality presented in ISO 25010 and to select the best tool of the ones that have been evaluated. Artykuł jest próbą oceny dostępnego na rynku oprogramowania różnych producentów, wykorzystywanego do modelowania danych w procesie projektowania relacyjnych baz danych. W analizie porównawczej uwzględnione zostały rozwiązania zarówno komercyjne, jak i niekomercyjne. Cel badawczy, jaki został postawiony, to zaproponowanie sposobu oceny narzędzi w oparciu o zmodyfikowany model jakości użytkowej prezentowany w normie ISO 25010 oraz wyłonienie najlepszego narzędzia spośród poddanych ocenie.
