Abstract: The article discusses ways to analyze and verify autonomous systems. Topics covered include autonomous systems architectures and formal verification for rational agents as the basis for verifying behaviors of autonomous systems, description of the interface to an agent in charge of making decisions within the system, the use of theorems or analysis of the environment to derive properties of the larger system and modification of of environmental properties. It also discusses the reasons behind the increase in autonomy.
