Abstrakt: The article focuses on the importance to conduct an assessment on the quality of drug barcodes in Europe. It explores the obligation of the barcode issuer to ensure the readability of the barcode by monitoring the in-line barcode grades, and checking the barcode's syntax. The quality of the barcode can be determined by using a specialized testing equipment, and following the standards of the International Organization for Standardization/International Electrotechnical Commission (ISO/IEC).
