The article presents a biography of commercial artist Edward McKnight Kauffer, who is featured in the exhibition "The Poster King" at the Estorick Collection in London, England ending December 18, 2011. He was born in Montana in 1890 and was working as a painter by age 17 before moving to England in the 1910s and focusing his career on graphic design and commercial imagery for posters. He worked for an advertising agency in the 1920s and moved back to the United States in 1940. |
