Abstract: Building upon the latest implementation of the Moving Morphable Component (MMC) method developed by Du et al. (2022), this paper presents a novel approach for solving natural frequency topology optimization problems. To tackle the common challenges, including spurious eigenmodes, repeated natural frequencies and mode switching phenomena, analytical sensitivity analysis and elimination of redundant degrees of freedom techniques are developed. To fully facilitate the advantages of the MMC method, key parameter scaling and efficient load transfer identification algorithm are proposed. Numerical examples illustrate the efficiency of the present natural frequency topology optimization method. Finally, MATLAB codes for solving the proposed 2D and 3D topology optimization problems are provided in the Appendix. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
