Abstract: Near-infrared emission properties of Cr3+/Tm3+/Ho3+ triply doped barium gallo-germanate glasses have been studied for the first time. Near-infrared emission bands due to characteristic transitions of Cr3+, Tm3+ and Ho3+ ions were measured under direct excitation of chromium at 600 nm. Their luminescence intensities and spectral linewidths depend significantly on activators concentrations. The energy transfer processes from Cr3+ to Tm3+ and Ho3+ ions with efficiencies equal to 39 % occur. The experimental results shows that barium gallo-germanate glasses are promising inorganic materials for near-infrared luminescence applications after Cr3+/Tm3+/Ho3+ triple doping.
