Abstract: The deciphering difficulty of a chaotic cryptogram is reduced to the identification difficulty of a chaotic dynamical system. This paper proposes a method to generate a chaos code in which more than one chaotic discrete-time system is prepared, and the additive mode of the chaotic state variables is varied according to the data to be chaos encoded. In the chaos code, the bit length is less than the bit length used to calculate the state of the chaotic dynamical system. This may lead to a decoding error. A theoretical discussion is presented on the bit length and the error rate of the chaos code, and the result is verified by simulation. © 1999 Scripta Technica, Electron Comm Jpn Pt 3, 82(5): 49–55, 1999 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
