    The problem for the research. The rapid development of information technology requires such skills from a modern university graduate as constant readiness to receive additional education, speed in mastering new skills and stress tolerance. Individual educational trajectories can be of great help in mastering the new challenges of the time, by which we mean 'an individual route for realizing the student's personal potential, developed by him in collaboration with a teacher or mentor, aimed at current needs and taking into account the personal characteristics of the student.' The aim of the research is to substantiate the necessity and possibility of using individual educational trajectories that allow students to develop their communicative competence within the framework of professional communication. Methods of investigation. The study was conducted during the 2022-2023 academic years. 87 undergraduate students of Vyatka State University (Russian Federation), studying in the faculties of Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgy, took part in the experiment. During the experiment, students took part in a sociological survey, which provided students with the opportunity to analyze their academic progress and identify factors affecting the learning process. The Fisher criterion was used for statistical processing of the results. KEYWORDS The findings of the study. The conducted survey helped to identify the organizational parameters of the educational process as a whole (motivation, usefulness of classes, etc.) from the subjective point of view of students. The survey criteria helped to identify special criteria for the effective design of individual educational technologies. The results of the experiment showed that designing students' sociolinguistic profiles is an effective tool for increasing motivation and proficiency in a foreign language, where p = 0,001; 0,037 и 0,012; p ≤ 0,05 (5%). Conclusion. The significance of the conducted research lies in the information approach used to solve the problem of designing individual educational trajectories for students. This approach ensured the development of personal and professional qualities of students, which they need in their future professional activities
